Aquaculture Feed Barge Code

The Aquaculture Feed Barge Code was developed during 2024 – 2026 by a partnership between Scottish Salmon, and The Workboat Association.

The Code reflects a collaborative effort, drawing on industry expertise, engineering best practices, and regulatory frameworks to create a robust and adaptable standard. It emphasizes proactive risk management, innovation, and a shared commitment to protecting both people and the marine environment.

Owners of Feed Barges in the Aquaculture Sector are to voluntarily register their companies on the scheme, and inspect their Barges in compliance with the Code using the Feed Barge Code Inspection Checklist.

Companies Registered on the scheme will be required to register at least one authorised person to perform the inspections on their behalf following the checklist. Details of the Companies registered on the scheme, their registered Authorised Persons, and their Registered Barges (including their inspection reports) are available below.
