Survey: Effect of Bridge Alarms on Watch Keepers

NWA members have been invited by Shipowners P&I Club to participate in a short online survey to inform a study on the effects of bridge equipment alarms on watch keepers.

The details of the survey are as follows:

“We are conducting a survey, in conjunction with Royal Holloway, University of London, to research into how bridge equipment alarms may affect watch keepers and their associated duties. We are inviting all seafarers to take part in the survey and share with us their opinion on the ways in which bridge equipment alarms may affect how they maintain a safe navigational watch.

The survey will take no more than three minutes to complete. It is anonymous, with no personal details being collected that could be used to identify the participant. In addition, withdrawal from the survey is available at any time, without issue. The data collected will be used to identify what further guidance should be developed to assist operators in their operations. The findings of the survey will be released on the Club website once the data has been collected and analysed.”
