Safety Forum Shortlisted for Award

Full Press Release 21.09.15

In early 2014 the workboat industry recognised the need for better cooperation on safety matters, and through their trade organisation, the National Workboat Association (NWA), the Workboat Safety Forum was established. Since then, the Safety Forum has attracted a wide and active membership, which has initiated and reported on workboat Safety Statistics for the first time, raising awareness of the need for improving communications concerning safety issues.
The UK’s leading trade organisation for the renewable energy industries, RenewableUK, has recognised the hard work and progress of the NWA Workboat Safety Forum by shortlisting it for their prestigious “RenewableUK Breakthrough Award”, which is due to be presented to the winner at the RenewableUK Gala Dinner at Liverpool’s St. George’s Hall on 7th October.
Philip Woodcock, Chairman of the NWA Workboat Safety Forum said: “I am incredibly proud that the hard work put in by the members is being recognised by RenewableUK. Good Safety is not only good for business; and it is our primary focus in the NWA to improve safety throughout the industry to ensure that our members’ employees are able to work safely.”
Details of the award and the shortlisted candidates can be found at http://www.renewableuk.com.  The Workboat Safety Forum can be contacted via the National Workboat Association at https://www.workboatassociation.org.
